It’s Daylight Savings, and the clock is about to roll forward an hour.
So technically, it’s 2:47am.
And I’m wide awake.
Sometimes, the hardest thing to say “no” to is my brain.
It just won’t shut off.
And tonight is one of those nights.
Which means tomorrow (today) is going to be one of those days.
As my mind plays shoulda/coulda/woulda, I’ve decided to make a list of NOs to remind myself the next time I’m second guessing every decision.
- No. You did not offend them.
- No. You did not disappoint them.
- No. You did not let them down.
- No. You did not get everything on your list done. BUT you did the best you could. The rest will be there tomorrow.
- No. You did not say everything you needed to say. BUT you will try again. Don’t give up. Speak up.
- No. You were not rejected.
- No. You were not discarded.
- No. You were not abandoned.
- No. You are not unloveable.
- No. You are not unforgivable.
- No. You are not alone.
I wonder how many times I’ll have to read them to believe them.
It’s 3:02am now.
I think I can sleep.
