Life with God is not immunity from difficulties but peace in difficulties.
That was the text from Mr. Roy today.
And man, did I need it.
Peace is hard to come by, especially these days.
I feel guilty for wanting peace and quiet when I’m trying to work, when I should be grateful to have a job at all.
I feel uneasy with the current shortage of [insert whatever here] and the predictions of what’s to come.
I feel anxious. worried. nervous.
There’s not a lot of peace happening around here.
But Mr. Roy is right. We are not promised immunity from a difficulty life. We were promised a refuge in the storm.
My dad said “Life’s not fair, and people don’t act right.” He was right, too.
This life isn’t fair. Thank goodness there’s a better one after it.
I hope you are having the best heavenly birthday, daddy. Happy 60th!
